Giving Back

Everyone has special talents. We happen to be good with film, storytelling, the digital world, social media, and some other things. We use our talents to support the following non-profits:

Lancaster Symphony Orchestra Music Discovery Program
Since 2007, Wilkum Studios has donated over 300 hours annually (that's 2700 hours since the beginning) to the community outreach program that brings the symphony to the students of Lancaster County. Each year the symphony performs at J.P. McCaskey High School to thousands of students from Lancaster County. The following week, the symphony hosts "Petting Zoos" where students can actually try out instruments, and even receive an instrument free of charge is they are serious about learning. We document these events, and the video plays at the annual "From the Top" auction, that raises the money to fund the program. At the auction, we create about 30 mini videos that showcase high end and unique auction items. Additionally, throughout the year we consult on any issue regarding the digital world. We also produce promotional videos that highlight the music that will be played throughout the season.

Donegal Athletic Club
Owner Steve Ulrich graduated from Donegal High School in Mount Joy. Steve was a great triple jumper and middle distance runner and was also drum major of the marching band. He served on the board of the Donegal Athletic Club, with the mission of building a stadium for the district. The stadium has now been built and will serve the community, runners, and the marching band for many decades to come. Wilkum Studios produces videos, created and maintains the website, and lends social media marketing expertise. The future stadium will not only benefit sports teams, but the entire community.

Women in Business Mentoring Program
From 2012 to 2013 we embarked on documenting the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Mentoring Program. From over 12 hours of video, we produced an 11-minute wrap-up video (not for public viewing) that highlighted key events. It was a lot of fun for the young people to engage in a little nostalgia of their experience. We made it current and fun (unlike most boring corporate videos) by adding a surprise guest at the end. Hint: Ain't Nobody Got Time For That.

Discounts for Non-Profits
Deeply discounted services have been provided for other local charities such as Girls On the Run, Arc of Lancaster County, “Cause for All Paws” at Bernard's supporting The Humane League of Lancaster, Epilepsy Foundation Eastern PA, and more as time allows.
